Many corporations request employees to backup important data regularly. However, current backup software requires manual activation. In the event that employee forgets to perform backup operation, the important data is no more protected.

StarSafe is specially designed and developed to solve the backup requirements of distributed PC and notebook for modern corporations. It is easy to deploy and use. Setup once and unless require to recover data, everything else is automated without manual intervention. StarSafe helps corporation to effectively backup the valuable PC and notebook data, eliminate the dependency on unreliable manual backup process.

StarSafe provides complete and easy to use backup features and policies, helps network administrator and end users perform the repetitive backup task automatically. Due to the flexible design, Corporation has choices either to deploy corporate wide backup policy managed centrally by Network Administrator or allowed end users to setup their own backup policies or both.
StarSafe has following features:

Corporate Backup Policy(CBP). CBP is the common backup policy decided by the management to be adopted by all users. CBP can include data generated by certain applications like Microsoft Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, Power-Point presentation slides or any other documents, or specific data files in folders or the complete contents of the folder like MY Document folder. Network Administrator sets up CBP on the StarSafe server and distributes to all PCs and notebooks. CBP is implemented globally and managed by administrator. CBP cannot be changed by end users.

User Backup Policy (UBP).In addition to CBP, user can use UBP to create additional backup policy. User can choose freely what to backup and how frequent to run the backup policy. When the corporation does not deploy CBP, end user is responsible to setup UBP which should include all important data.

Automatic and Unattended. Whether CBP or UBP, once setup and activated, StarSafe will execute the policies in background unattended. Starsafe has option to report completed backup results to user. Administrator and user has option to examine backup status as and when necessary.

Secured. The data backup by StarSafe is encrypted to ensure data security. Unless authorized by higher level management, Network Administrator is prevented from accessing the content of user's backup

Efficient. StarSafe server applies Single File Store technology to make efficient use of disk storage. No duplicate of same files are stored in StarSafe server. In addition, StarSafe uses incremental backup technology, only backup the changed data to save both storage and network bandwidth requirements.

Intelligent. The StarSafe client program installed in the PC or Notebook will execute CBP automatically, identify and decide when to use incremental backup, monitor data file change as it happens to improve backup efficiency. When computer is off-line, backup files will be kept in local disk. They will be transferred to StarSafe server when connected again.

Easy to Restore Backup Data. StarSafe client provides very intuitive data restored feature. User only needs to select which backup point and select what data to restore. Restored data can be directed to a different location.
